We just celebrated our 5^th anniversary with Old Friends today. Cabin Creek means so much to me. I always wanted to be around horses since I was a little girl, and then I wanted a horse farm for all of my horses. I was planning the barn, I could smell it. Then life got busy with great things, my husband and our sons, our business and all that goes with it. Quiet moments, which were rare, were when I thought about the Dream Farm, thoroughbreds; I needed to be with them again.

The heat is here now…and the boys are taking solace in their run-ins…Poor things!

We are gearing up for expanded tour hours so that everyone can visit.

Our summer tours are starting on Tuesday, July 22nd, 2014, but we will be closed on Saturday, July 19th, to prepare for the 5th Annual Kick-Off Cocktail Party at the Saratoga Golf & Polo Club.

This year marks our 5th anniversary as Old Friends at Cabin Creek. We’ve grown and changed a lot…formed a family for the horses. The backbone of any charity is the volunteers who see a need and give freely of themselves for a greater good. It seems to take a village and then some and we have been blessed.

This past winter was the harshest I can remember and our volunteers kept showing up. Twenty below, 40 mile an hour winds, zero visibility, frozen water buckets, icy roads, what felt like the longest winter ever they came to care for our beloved horses. Thankfully the horses handled it well and spring has arrived. So many old and new friends sent donations to keep the grain and hay coming.
