Midnight Secret
1997-2018

We lost our sweet Midnight Secret today. Somehow he fractured his hock beyond repair. He was such a good horse, such a warrior in racing and a beautiful ambassador for retirement. So loved and missed deeply at dinner tonight. Run free Midnight...

Born Feb. 21, 1997, By Key Contender, out of Flannel Sheets, by Triocala
Midnight Secret is a phenomenal NY bred gelding. He may not have the most talked about name in the racing industry, but his passion for running was remarkable. He raced an incredible 111 times. He raced in claiming, maiden, and allowance races. He raced until he was 12. He started as a 2 year old and retired at 12 years old. When he was 2, he raced mainly at Aqueduct and Belmont, and then his trainer, Oscar Barrera Jr. moved him to Finger Lakes, which was his home track for the rest of his racing career. Of his 111 starts, he was in the money 75 times (14-31-20). He made $212,749. At Finger Lakes, he raced against Old Friends retiree Karakorum Patriot. They were rivals and now are within feet of each other. He arrived at Cabin Creek on 12/4/09.
